History of Maxima trading network.
The first three shops were open in Lithuania, Vilnius in 1992. Since then tens new shops opened every year. The development in Lithuania was especially fast at the end of the 90th years when the enterprise took the leader's position in the market. The purpose of a Maxima was to open shops everywhere where the number of consumers reached 10 000 people. By the present moment the trading network of Maxima in Lithuania includes 221 shops, and the market share reaches 34 %.
The Maxima trading network opened the first shops in Latvia and Estonia in 2001 under the T-Market trademark. The leader's position in the Latvia's market was reached in a couple of years. Now Maxima in Latvia includes 127 shops. The fast expansion of Maxima in Estonia started in 2004. By the present moment Maxima trading network in Estonia includes 66 shops, and the market share quickly exceeded 15 %.
