On a recent day the results of a contest titled “Pomegranate image in fine arts” held in Azerbaijan Union of Artists held by this mentioned Union supported by title sponsor “Aznar” company.

Several well known people attended the event, among which we can see Natig Aliyev, Minister of Energy and fuel of Azerbaijan, Russian Embassy D.Dorokhin, Deputy of Milli Mejlis Sabir Hajiyev, Chairman of Union of Artists Sadri Farhad Khalilov, head secretary of this organization Aghali Ibrahimov, Minister of Tourism and Culture Adalat Valiyev and some others.

Money award has been presented by a head of “Aznar” company who supports national artists for a long time and closely, well known businessman Farhad Ahmadov personally. At the same time, this person for a long year acting as a real sponsor made investments to art of Azerbaijan in a great amount – he is the first businessman who stopped flow of modern works of arts of Azerbaijan abroad. Collection of works of Azerbaijani artists of different times has become his passion and moral need.

Meanwhile, over a number of years Farhad Ahmadov set his collection successively and selectively.

While setting collection of works of well known artists of Azerbaijan, businessman and a sponsor arrived at such an idea to make permanent exposition which makes it possible being lost in mysterious and amazing world of fine arts of Azerbaijan. So, in 2005 an idea to organize “Nar” gallery in Icheri Sheher which is intended to be open for connoisseurs of art and this idea had been realized, sponsorship of such contests become a tradition for him.

Relating this mentioned contest we would like to note that during four months were considered more that 200 works in a genres of painting, sculpture and applied art. At the result Mirnadir Zeynalov, Azerbaijani artist was awarded with a main reward – 5.000 manat for the first place, Naila Sultanova was awarded by the second place – and 3.000 manat and Khanlar Ahmadov for the 3rd place – 2.000 manat. Along with it, encouragement prizes were also presented in amount of 500 manat to Hajiyeva Bayim, Muradov Rafael, Guliyev Mammadkarim, Gulamov Farman, Aghabayov Mais, Azizov Aziz, Orujov Mahammad, Kazimov Javanshir, Mirzazada Sirus and Mammadov Rovshan.

Along with it, we would like to inform that such an event is not the first or the last event arranged and financed by “Aznar” company.

So, on May 21 analogical contest was held in Academy of Arts which was attended by 80 students and the winners were presented monetary awards and were awarded by a travel to St. Petersburg to visit Hermitage.

In future “Aznar” company in order to support national artists is intended to continue to finance contests and exhibitions.
